Presence-Based Coach Training

Presence-Based Leadership Development® offers training and coach certification for all levels of coaching professionals as well as leaders committed to purposeful and meaningful action.  Each of these offerings will simultaneously support your personal development and professional effectiveness.

Our coach training curriculum is designed to offer robust Presence-Based Coach training, grounded in an inclusive model of human development. The program develops coaches who are deeply committed to their own learning and development, to an inquiry-centered approach to coaching, to cultivating mindfulness and awareness in themselves and their clients, and to placing themselves in service to the growth and development of effective and compassionate leaders.

This curriculum is for discerning individuals who are seeking a top notch development experience with a small group in a face-to-face setting. The core of the training is delivered in three and four day residential retreats at a beautiful retreat center in Asheville, NC. Additional reading, self-observations, telephone conferences, and observed audio reviews complete the coursework.

Designed for committed learners at any level of experience, we certify coaches who meet our rigorous standards, and our curriculum is approved by the International Coach Federation for initial certification or renewal at any level.

testimonial

Doug Silsbee provides both thought leadership and pragmatic guidance for coaches in order that we might: bring mindfulness into our work with leaders; learn the territory of working with our own habits; have a set of distinctions for observing ourselves in action; and skillfully navigate the coaching conversation in order to open real opportunities for substantive change with our clients. Capturing the essence of what coaching can be, Silsbee has given us an incredibly valuable and integrated framework that will have significant impact on our field for years to come.

As coaches, the focus on improving oneself is fundamental to becoming the best possible instrument for supporting one’s clients. The Presence-Based Coaching Course is one of the finest opportunities for this, and Doug is the most grounded and provocative workshop presenter I have ever experienced, embodying the concepts of the workshop in such a way as to make it tangible. The course goes way beyond the many concrete coaching skills embedded in Doug’s articulate and practical model, building a foundation of calm presence and aliveness. The entire experience was supportive, challenging and satisfying.
