Exercises and Practices from Presence-Based Coaching

Below is a selection of exercises and practices excerpted from Presence-Based Coaching. The explanatory material in the text will be very useful in many cases for understanding and interpreting the practice. You may view these on-line, or download them as PDF’s and share them freely. There are many more exercises and practices in the book.

In general, exercises are intended to be done once or twice to generate a particular insight, experience, or perspective. Practices, on the other hand, are intended to be done repetitively over time, with the intention of building a competency or capacity. Practices are central to the accelerated developmental learning that is the promise of Presence-Based Coaching.

This page offers twelve exercises and practices from Presence-Based Coaching. At the end is a link to a short article and description of the self-observation practice, along with a template.

Please click on the exercise or practice you would like to view, you will be taken to an online view where you will have the option to download a PDF version as well.
