The Voice of Power, Presence, and Wisdom: An Experiential Workshop
(a poetry dojo™ offer
in partnership with The Strozzi Institute)
When our voices line up with our deepest care, our wildest humor, our sadness, our longing, or our spirited intelligence, we touch what most needs to be expressed. We let who we are spill out in language. We deliver the best of ourselves—with power, presence, and wisdom. But what is it that inspires our most essential voice?
In this two-day workshop with poet, martial artist and somatic coach Renée Gregorio, you will explore getting to the heart of what matters through body awareness and writing practices. By engaging in new practices, you will experience having more access to the source of your expressiveness. You will come to know the place within you from which your most authentic voice springs.
This workshop is designed for:
- professional or creative writers who want to dive deeper into authentic voice
- coaches who want to increase their abilities to use imagination and creativity in their work
- leaders who need to hone their speaking or writing abilities
- anyone who wants to say what they mean and mean what they say
This workshop will feature the following activities:
- body awareness practices that focus on developing a centered presence, deepening listening skills, attending to the feeling self, building capacity to more fully sense and feel experience, and giving voice to the wisdom of the body.
- writing & listening practices that develop participants’ ability to meet what’s outside of ourselves with openness and groundedness, sense the effect one’s language has on another, know one’s own essential voice.
Participants will come away with new-found ability to:
- speak the heart of what matters
- access the voice of directness
- express their truth with clarity and power
