ICF Credits for Presence-Based Coaching®
The Presence-Based Coaching program is recognized by the International Coach Federation as an Approved Coach-Specific Training Hours (ACSTH) provider. Your completion of coursework earns credits towards coach certification.
Please note the following:
- We do not currently directly certify coaches ourselves.
- Credits earned for Presence-Based Coach training can be applied towards initial certification via the portfolio approach at ACC or PCC levels, or towards credential renewal at ACC, PCC, or MCC levels. It is important for you to understand the ICF requirements; please review these on the ICF website.
- 125 credits are available from completing the Presence-Based Coaching Course, Living into Purpose Coaching Course, and 12 hours of coaching practice calls. Together, these are sufficient to meet all training requirements for certification at the PCC level.
- ICF credits for Presence-Based Coaching Course cost $250/retreat. We price these credits separately in order to keep the cost low for those not concerned with certification. The cost includes all documentation, plus a review and feedback on your recorded coaching session with an actual client.
- We are currently developing a system for providing mentor coaching, designed to meet the ICF requirements. This will be available in mid-2012; if you are interested, please email Bebe Cooper.
- ICF credits for LIPCC are included in the cost, as are two audio reviews.
For the Presence-Based Coaching Course, credits are provided as follows:
- $250 fee is due before or during your retreat.
- Within four weeks of the retreat, you record a coaching session with an actual client, who has provided permission for you to record. Under some circumstances, this date can be negotiated. However, the intention is that the audio is recorded and feedback provided during the span of the overall course, not later. The client could be a PBC classmate, or someone else.
- Submit a digital audio recording to us as an mp3 file. We can provide the technology for recording this call, or you are welcome to use your own.
- Within about three weeks of receiving your audio, and usually sooner, we return detailed written feedback on your coaching, and where your habits might be showing up in your coaching. Reviewing your own coaching audio with these distinctions in mind can be quite revealing.
- You also are required to participate in both follow-up group calls, or listen to recorded audio. If you miss a call and listen to the audio, you are required to respond via email to three brief questions.
- Following completion of these requirements, Jenny will provide you with a document confirming completion of 25 hours of coach-specific training, which ICF will accept towards certification or renewal.
If you would like to use our conference call service to record your coaching session, please follow these instructions:
1. Reserve a time slot on shared calendar. You can view the calendar to check available time slots and then email Jenny your choice (she will enter it into the calendar).
2. Jenny will send you the call-in instructions.
3. Send Jenny an email when you have completed your call; she will download the audio and send it to you and the faculty member who will be doing your review.
