Coaching Physical Disability SIG

Thanks so much for your interest and participation in our call on Wednesday. I greatly appreciated your engagement and incisive questions, and it was a privilege to spend the time with you!

Here are the resources we discussed yesterday:

A range of self-assessments, including the free Septet Self-Assessment, can be found here.

Chapter 2 from my book provides a lot of context for mindfulness in coaching.

A short article, published in ILCT's newsletter, identifies some of the habits of mind that show up in our coaching.

A medium length article, presented at ICF in San Jose, discusses habits, and also goes into the Buddhist framework of skandhas, attachments, and aversion. It discusses self-observations briefly. More on self-observations is in The Mindful Coach and the Retreat Manual eBook (the participant manaul from the Art of Mindful Coaching retreat, where we do a lot of work with self-observations.)

Shinzen Young's Break Through Pain, a good book/CD set on working with pain.

Jon Kabat-Zinn's Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness is a classic overview of a practical mindfulness based program.

Please sign up to receive occasional announcements about my work, and please feel free to email with any follow-up questions you may have. I welcome on-going dialog, and again, my thanks for joining me on the call.
